I've been wanting to write a new journal entry for ages. I've started to countless times but always chucked 'em, for whatever reason. BUT ANYWAY

If you are of the appropriate age and have not seen Watchmen yet, do get on that. I was only mildly interested in it originally, and never saw a single commercial, but from what I'd gleamed of it, it sounded cool, and when I saw it...WOAH.

CRAZY WOAH.

My friends and I went opening night. 8D; I can't describe it without killing it but it was epic. I would have been happier if I didn't have to sit through some of the sex scenes, and I'm admittedly a little squeamish with some of the bloody bits, but the rest of the movie outweighed it. It felt more...possible than any other superhero movie I've seen, mostly 'cause it takes all these characters and gives them REAL personalities and even more flaws. The world affects them and they affect the world. My friends weren't as thrilled by it, and I ended up having to explain some things to one (the best I could), so you have to go in /wanting/ to watch. But I'll let you decide that for yourself if you see it. :] I know I'd like to read the actual graphic novel now.

OH! While I was watching though, it wasn't Dr. Manhattan's blue ding dong that had me riveted. It was his voice. All I could think was "woah...I like his voice. o__o ...A lot." Which is weird, but whatever, I AM weird that way. XD In any case, I realized later what it evoked: I found Desteti's voice. Granted Des isn't so...monotone-y. But you get the idea. As an added bonus, I realized why it was also familiar. The actor played the voice of Ashitaka in Princess Mononoke (another awsome movie, for any who haven't seen it. By the same guy that directed Spirited Away. :] ) SO YEAH. XD You can think of Des next time you see the big glowing blue guy with no pants! D:<

AND BECAUSE I NEED TO BLURB ABOUT OLD ANIMATED MOVIES OR I'LL IMPLODE.
I am le sad because no stores near me have Cats Don't Dance OR Titan A.E. in stock. 8< *shakes fist* Really like those movies. Ah well. I got to watch Balto, which filled me with happy. But I HAD AN EPIPHANY. I realized that The Great Mouse Detective was one of my all-time favorite movies as a kid. So why hadn't I watched it in so long? IT'S MISSING. DX SOMEONE TOOK MY MOUSE DETECTIVE. *emos out* I saw one in Toys R Us. Probably should have grabbed it. But I'm still hoping I can find my VHS. ;__; Fern Gully is missing too. SADNESS. ;__________; I came across some movies for 5 a pop though and snagged The Secret of NIMH (I read that book as a kid and looooved it! 8D) and the 13th Land Before Time (which SUCKS btw D:> I only got about 15 or so minutes in before I had to make it go AWAY. x___x)

AND THAT'S ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT. D8 I will, however, leave you with these parting words of wisdom!: Madagascar 2 was good. XD And I recommend the movie The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Very cute and down to earth film. :]
